Iran’s Top Cleric: Agreement with U.S. Is Dead; Global Vengeance for Martyred Leader Is Certain

In a strongly worded analytical statement, senior Iranian cleric Ayatollah Alireza Arafi declared that the demand for avenging the blood of the "Martyred Imam" and other fallen heroes transcends political administrations, asserting that the era of negotiations with a treacherous enemy has definitively ended.

Hawzah News Agency- In a strongly worded analytical statement, senior Iranian cleric Ayatollah Alireza Arafi declared that the demand for avenging the blood of the "Martyred Imam" and other fallen heroes transcends political administrations, asserting that the era of negotiations with a treacherous enemy has definitively ended.

Revenge Is a Decisive and Irrevocable Principle

Following the recent directive of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Arafi, Director of Iran’s Islamic Seminaries, emphasized that the pursuit of justice for the Martyred Imam and the martyrs of the two recent wars is a firm, unequivocal obligation. He stated that this duty is not contingent upon the comings and goings of governments or specific individuals.

"In any case, this will be realized," Ayatollah Arafi said. "The criminals and perpetrators of these atrocities will never again feel security. Their wish for a peaceful death in their beds will be buried with them in their graves. This revenge will be pursued on an international and overarching scale, driven by the resolve of the world's freedom-seekers."

Declaring the Death of the Agreement

The member of Iran’s Guardian Council pointed to the enemy’s repeated violations of the agreement between Iran and the United States, emphasizing that continued diplomacy is now baseless. Ayatollah Arafi accused the adversary of breaching every single clause by resorting to threats, insults, and military aggression, reimposing economic sanctions, refusing to pay reparations, withholding the return of Iran’s frozen assets, failing to enforce a ceasefire, and not forcing the usurping Israeli regime to withdraw from Lebanese territory. Most recently, he noted, the re-establishment of a naval blockade on Iran was the final straw.

"Now that the President of the United States has brazenly and explicitly announced the end of the agreement and initiated war, there remains no justification to stay bound by the agreement or continue negotiations," Ayatollah Arafi declared.

A Strategic Recommendation to Officials

Ayatollah Arafi directly addressed the administration, urging the President—who pledged before the Supreme Leader and the steadfast Iranian nation to uphold the nation’s rights—along with other top officials and diplomatic corps, to consider the agreement completely terminated. He called on them to "embark on the path of Jihad and resilience" and return to the path diagnosed by the Supreme Leadership through full obedience.

No Ransom for the Enemy

The cleric underscored that the great Iranian nation refuses to pay ransom to the enemy due to economic difficulties and is prepared to sacrifice their last drop of blood in the path of establishing justice. He warned officials not to compromise the legitimate rights of the Islamic Ummah under the pretext of economic problems, fear of war costs, or infrastructure damage. He insisted that engaging with enemies who, according to the Holy Quran, "do not respect any covenant," must stop immediately.

The Statement in Context: The World Witnessed a Power Display

The statement came as part of a broader analysis of the historic and multi-million-strong funeral processions held in Iran and Iraq for the Martyred Imam and his family members. The massive funerals in Tehran, Qom, the holy cities of Najaf and Karbala, and Mashhad served as a turning point in the movement towards a new Islamic civilization.

Ayatollah Arafi noted that tens of millions carrying red flags of vengeance transformed the procession into the largest and most unique funeral in history, unleashing a wave of fury that shook the White House. He claimed the display of power angered the "psychotic and ill-mannered" U.S. President, driving him to further military aggression against Iranian soil during the mourning period—attacks that were met with crushing and severe retaliatory blows from Iran’s powerful armed forces.

"This funeral once again showcased the logic of the victory of blood over the sword to the world," Ayatollah Arafi stated, adding that the event cemented the global message that the era of new international dynamics is shifting.

A Call for International Justice and Unity of the Resistance Front

The statement highlighted that the roaring crowds chanting for retaliation sent a clear message to the transgressors that the nation is serious about avenging the blood of their leader. International media, he noted, interpreted the roar of the Islamic Ummah as a "drill of national will" that has shattered the enemy's calculations.

Ayatollah Arafi emphasized that the Axis of Resistance remains stronger than ever, with the funeral serving as a powerful display of unity among the people of Iraq, Lebanon, Yemen, and Syria. "The enemy must pay the price for this crime so that it never dares to repeat such an act," he said. "From now on, the people must keep this flame of revenge alive in their hearts until its realization."
